In English

Welcome to DTiS:

Digital Tools in Schools

Please notice that I can't any longer keep this wiki up-to-date! Hopefully you can find something of interest anyway.

This page is a (very) brief summary of my Swedish language DViS (DTiS) wiki. It would be great to have all the entries in both Swedish and English but presently it would take too much time. However, I have written one of my articles in English from the beginning - a walkthrough and review, Diino online storage and sharing

Why DViS?

The DViS wiki is mainly intended as inspiration and assistance to my Swedish colleagues using digital tools together with their students. The wiki also serves as an additional resource connected to my teacher training duties within the ICT field. However, I'm always interested in getting in touch with anyone with similar interests so please don't hesitate to contact me.

Focus on collaborative tools

To me, using digital tools at school is mainly about communication - and especially about communication through the web. This is also the way most young people use the internet and I think it really is a good idea to learn from the pros! Many successful companies worldwide have definitely noticed that this is the way to go; a good example is the heavy impact of InstantMessaging within the business sector. There should be nothing to stop schools with an internet connection from doing the same.

Coming to a browser near you

More and more applications are also migrating to the web, making it possible to accomplish a variety of tasks directly in the web browser without the need of any additional software. This is good news to every teacher, principle and student.

Thank you for visiting DViS wiki and please feel free to look around and leave comments, I'm looking forward to your feedback!
